DMAIC stands for Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. The Six Sigma DMAIC methodology is often thought of as a roadmap for guiding better problem solving which leads to product and process improvement. The DMAIC Roadmap Template created as wheel diagram with 5 chevron arrows as 5 phases, parts, stages, steps, or options of the continues improvement process:

1. Define Phase: Define the project goals and customer (internal and external) deliverables
2. Measure Phase: Measure the process to determine current performance; quantify the problem
3. Analyze Phase: Analyze and determine the root cause(s) of the defects
4. Improve Phase: Improve the process by eliminating defects
5. Control Phase: Control future process performance
