Free Google Slides Theme and PowerPoint Template

Kotter's 8-Step Change Model is a popular framework for managing change in organizations, and our presentation template is the perfect tool to help you share this model with your team. Designed for use in both PowerPoint and Google Slides, this template features a sequence of 8 rounded rectangles connected by arrows and forming a 4x2 table. Each rectangle contains a number, an icon, a description, and a title, all of which help guide your audience through the model's eight essential steps.

Step 1: Create a Climate for Change

The first step in Kotter's model is to create a sense of urgency and establish a need for change. This step requires leaders to identify and communicate the reasons behind the change, as well as the potential benefits that will come from it.

Step 2: Build a Guiding Coalition

Once a sense of urgency has been established, the next step is to build a team of people who are committed to making the change happen. This coalition should include people from all levels of the organization and should be led by a strong and respected leader.

Step 3: Form a Strategic Vision and Initiatives

With the guiding coalition in place, it's time to develop a clear and compelling vision for the future. This step involves defining the goals of the change initiative and outlining the specific initiatives that will be required to achieve those goals.

Step 4: Enlist a Volunteer Army

Once the vision and initiatives have been defined, the next step is to engage and empower a broad range of stakeholders to help drive the change. This step involves identifying and enlisting volunteers who are willing to take ownership of specific parts of the change initiative.

Step 5: Enable Action by Removing Barriers

To make sure the change initiative is successful, leaders must remove any obstacles that may be preventing progress. This step requires identifying and addressing any structural, cultural, or political barriers that may be hindering the change effort.

Step 6: Generate Short-Term Wins

To maintain momentum and keep people motivated, it's important to achieve some early wins. This step involves identifying opportunities to deliver visible and meaningful results quickly, which will help build confidence in the change initiative.

Step 7: Sustain Acceleration

With some early wins under your belt, it's time to accelerate the pace of change. This step involves using the momentum generated by the early wins to drive even more progress while continuing to remove barriers and engage stakeholders.

Step 8: Institute Change

Finally, once the change initiative is well underway and the vision has been achieved, it's important to institutionalize the change. This step involves embedding the new behaviors, systems, and processes into the organization's culture to ensure that the change is permanent.
